The management of Kwadaso SDA Nursing and Midwifery Training College in the Ashanti Region has taken disciplinary action against the three nursing students involved in a leaked sex tape. The incident caused a stir online and led to the suspension of the students for one year.

During a meeting with the school’s disciplinary committee, the three first-year students admitted their offense and accepted responsibility for their actions. The Public Relations Officer for the school, Williams Adinkra, clarified that the sexual encounter captured in the video took place off-campus, contrary to initial reports suggesting it occurred on school premises.

According to Adinkra, the two students engaged in the sexual act during their vacation and recorded it. The third student, who allegedly released the video, downloaded it from the girl’s phone and demanded GHc5,000 from her. When she failed to provide the money, the video was released online and quickly went viral on social media.

As a consequence, all three students involved have been suspended for one year. Additionally, the student responsible for releasing the video will face further disciplinary action upon their return to the college. The severity of the punishment reflects the seriousness with which the college views such misconduct.

The incident unfolded when a male student attempted to blackmail two female students after obtaining a copy of the sex tape from a phone that was given for repair. The blackmailer demanded GHs5,000 from one of the students and threatened to release the video if she did not comply. Unfortunately, the student was unable to meet the financial demand, resulting in the video being strategically released to the public.

The management of Kwadaso SDA Nursing and Midwifery Training College has taken a strong stance against this inappropriate behavior, ensuring that such incidents are dealt with seriously and swiftly. The suspension of the students serves as a clear message that the institution does not tolerate actions that undermine the values and reputation of the college.

It is crucial for students to understand the consequences of their actions, especially in the digital age, where information can spread rapidly and have long-lasting effects. Educational institutions must continue to prioritize the importance of responsible behavior, respect for privacy, and the consequences of engaging in harmful activities.

This incident serves as a reminder of the need for enhanced awareness and education on digital literacy, ethics, and personal responsibility among students. By addressing these issues, colleges and universities can better equip their students with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the online world responsibly, safeguard their privacy, and make informed decisions regarding their behavior both on and off campus.
