GOV’T TO CHANGE BROWN AND YELLOW UNIFORMS OF PUBLIC SCHOOLS – EDUCATION MINISTER

In a bid to revitalize basic education and enhance its appeal, the Education Minister, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, has announced intentions to overhaul the uniforms worn by pupils in public schools across the country.

During a forum titled ‘The Free SHS Story’ held in Accra on April 25, 2024, Dr. Adutwum unveiled plans for a significant transformation in the appearance of public schools. One of the key initiatives highlighted by the Minister is the replacement of the current brown and yellow uniforms with a new color scheme.

“We are changing the uniforms of public basic schools in the country. The yellow and brown that you see now, you will see no more. Reformation is coming to a community near you, and you will see it,” Dr. Adutwum announced.

Furthermore, the Minister revealed plans to enhance the visual appeal of basic schools by introducing a new color scheme for their outlook.

“We are switching to blue and white. We are painting all the schools to give it an attractive outlook. This is the transformation Ghana deserves and it is coming,” he emphasized.
