GMB 2023: Upper East Region’s Aduanige Introduces “Nige Skincare” – Premium Skincare Solutions

Empowering Beauty: Aduanige's Journey with "Nige Skincare"

The Upper East Region’s representative for the 2023 edition of Ghana Most Beautiful, Aduanige, made a stunning impression on both judges and the audience during the August 27, 2023 episode. The theme of the day was entrepreneurship, and each contestant showcased business ideas aimed at empowering women. Aduanige’s presentation, in particular, struck a chord with her heartfelt story and her skincare venture, “Nige Skincare.”

In her moving presentation, Aduanige shared a personal journey that many could relate to. She explained how, like so many, she had struggled with skin issues that led to a loss of confidence due to dark spots, acne, and dry skin. Frustrated by countless failed attempts with various skincare products, she decided to take matters into her own hands. She embarked on a mission to research, create, and test her own skincare solutions.

Aduanige’s determination and hard work eventually paid off, leading to the birth of “Nige Skincare Beauty.” With an initial investment of just ¢1,000, she started crafting her products, including African soaps, shower gels, and treatment oils. Her first customers were her roommates and coursemates, and she quickly saw a profit of 20 cedis on each product sold. Encouraged by positive feedback, she expanded beyond her campus, registering her brand with the Food and Drugs Authority.

However, to meet the growing demand, Aduanige required additional funding of Ghc 5,000.00 to purchase essential raw materials like neem powder, carrot extracts, natural black soap, mixing machines, and containers. With these resources, she could produce a significant quantity of products in just five days, with the potential to generate a substantial profit.

Aduanige’s strategy didn’t stop at product quality and quantity; she leveraged the power of social media to reach a wider audience. Satisfied customers shared their transformative experiences, using before-and-after photos as powerful testimonials. As a testament to her dedication, Aduanige also used her image for packaging, creating a brand identity that resonated with her customers.

Looking ahead, Aduanige’s vision extends beyond business success. She aspires to expand her venture and provide employment opportunities for women in both production and sales. Her mission aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically Goal 1 – “Zero Poverty” and Goal 5 – “Achieve Gender Equality and Empower All Women and Girls.”
