Baba Iklimah Emerges Victorious as Tamale College of Education SRC Women’s Commissioner

Baba Iklimah has triumphed over her rival, Naawere Esther, in the race for the Women’s Commissioner position in the Tamale College of Education’s Students Representative Council (SRC). The college’s trainees exercised their democratic right to elect a new cohort of executives for the 2023-2024 academic year on July 5, 2023.

The highly contested election included various crucial positions within the SRC, with the presidency attracting significant attention. Soale Razak and his running mate, Abdulai Abass, emerged as winners in the race for the SRC presidency, securing a total of 894 votes to defeat their opponents who received 498 votes.

The voting process on July 5 was conducted by the Level 300 and 400 students, as the Level 100 and 200 students had already participated in their elections a few weeks prior. Positions such as the SRC Public Relations Officer, Library Secretary, Financial Secretary, General Secretary, and Organizer were also sought after, while portfolios including Welfare, Sports, Entertainment, and others will be appointed.

Baba Iklimah’s victory as the Women’s Commissioner showcases her popularity and support among the college community.
