Sarkodie Responds to Yvonne Nelson’s Memoir with Provocative Track “Try Me”

Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has fired back at Yvonne Nelson’s memoir, “I AM NOT YVONNE NELSON,” through his latest release titled “Try Me.” The song, which was released in the early hours of June 28, 2023, delves into their past relationship and addresses the controversy surrounding Nelson’s claims about him.

In the track, Sarkodie commends Nelson for her courage to speak out but advises her to exercise caution in selectively choosing what to disclose. He asserts that nobody compelled her to share their personal experiences and suggests that if she intends to discuss their relationship, she should provide a comprehensive account of her entire romantic history.

Starting with an acknowledgment of their involvement, Sarkodie expresses surprise at the situation. He recounts how Nelson informed him of her pregnancy and his suggestion for her to keep the baby. However, Nelson expressed her desire to prioritize her education instead.
