Cyclist James Kumbeni Successfully Completes 815km Journey From Bolgatanga to Accra

James Kumbeni, a committed cyclist from Bolgatanga, has successfully completed his remarkable 815-kilometer ride from Bolgatanga to Accra. This journey, initiated on April 8th and concluded on April 12th, was undertaken to raise awareness about green transportation and cyclist safety.

Dubbed the “Ride for Clean Air and Safe Cycling,” Kumbeni’s expedition was in support of Atinga Nsobila Joel’s Guinness World Record attempt for the longest barbecue marathon in Accra. Sponsored by various organizations including AquaBolg, Happy Man Bitters, Eye of God Pharmacy, and A1 Radio, Kumbeni’s ride symbolized a collective effort towards promoting eco-friendly modes of transportation and advocating for cyclist-friendly policies.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency, Kumbeni stressed the importance of promoting bicycles as alternative modes of transport to mitigate the adverse health and environmental effects of vehicle emissions. He emphasized the need for emission-free transportation options like cycling, walking, and public transit to reduce carbon footprints and enhance environmental sustainability.

Kumbeni’s journey, which saw him traversing through various towns and cities including Tamale, Kintampo, Kumasi, Suhum, and finally Accra, culminated in a triumphant arrival at the Legon City Mall in Accra, where Atinga Nsobila Joel’s Guinness World Record attempt was underway. Joined by a group of fellow cyclists and security escorts, Kumbeni’s ride symbolized the power of collective action in supporting noble causes and raising awareness for environmental conservation and sustainable transportation practices.
