On this day in 2019 Jesse Apalazoya won silver for team Upper East Taekwondo Assocoation.

On Thursday 5th December, 2019 Jesse Apalazoya won silver at the 11th Korea Ambassador’s cup at the Korea community sports complex in Tema

Jesse won all his three matches against David Nortey from the Upper West Region, Kumevi Forster from Greater Accra, and Klutse Courage from the Volta Region to set a date with Jian Eudus Sossou from the East Region.

Jesse pick up injury in his semi-finals fight against Klutse Courage, which was a careere threaten injury and could not fight the entire finals with Jian Eudus Sossou as his coach Michael Ayine threw in the tawel to stop the fight.

Jesse settle in second in the 63kg weight category to win the only medal for team Upper East in the championship.

The Upper East Region went with four(4) athletes, two were able to fight that is Jesse Apalazoya and Abagna Michael while Atateri Simon Mba and Daniel Anemanah could not fight because of the late arrival of team Upper East.

Team Upper East finished 8th in the overall ranking ahead of Central and Ashanti which was guided by Coach Michael Ayine with support from Cletus Aduko Akosah the public Relation Officer of the Association and the winner went to Greater Accra who had 6 golds, 3 silver and 5 bronze.
