Stonebwoy Joins Boomplay’s Golden Club with 100 Million Streams; Receives Plaque
Ghanaian music sensation Stonebwoy has received the prestigious Golden Club plaque from Boomplay, Africa’s premier music streaming and download platform, after surpassing 100 million streams on the platform. The accomplishment solidifies Stonebwoy’s position among the top-tier artists in the industry.
Stonebwoy’s milestone was largely attributed to the success of his recent album, 5th Dimension, which was released in April 2023. The album has garnered an impressive 23.5 million total streams, with several of its singles trending for months on the Boomplay app. The lead single, “Into the Future,” even reached the No. 1 spot on the Boomplay Ghana Charts.
Expressing his gratitude, Stonebwoy thanked his loyal fans, known as Bhimnation, and commended Boomplay for its commitment to promoting Ghanaian and African artists, as well as its contributions to the African music ecosystem. He reflected on his journey as a musician, acknowledging the dream-turned-reality and the significance of celebrating achievements in the industry.

The Golden Club plaque was presented to Stonebwoy by Oliver Ameyewodo, the Artist Relations Manager at Boomplay Ghana. The recognition highlights Stonebwoy’s impact on the music scene and his ability to captivate audiences with his unique blend of Afrobeats, Dancehall, and Reggae.
Elizabeth Ntiamoah-Quarshie, the General Manager of Boomplay Ghana, expressed pride in Stonebwoy’s accomplishments, emphasizing his role in the success story of Boomplay. Stonebwoy was the first major Ghanaian artist to embrace the platform and distribute his entire music catalog on Boomplay.
Stonebwoy’s prominence in the music industry has been well-established since 2012 when he burst onto the scene. He holds the distinction of being a three-time Most Streamed Ghanaian Artist on Boomplay (2018, 2019, and 2020). In 2021, he made history by winning seven awards at the Boomplay Awards. With the recent release of his critically acclaimed album, Stonebwoy is poised to embark on a North American tour, solidifying his international presence and further expanding his fan base.
