Police Arrest Six Individuals for Staging Kidnapping of PRESEC Student in Accra
In a recent development, the Ghana Police Service has apprehended six individuals, including four juveniles who are students of Presbyterian Boys Senior High School (PRESEC) in Legon, Accra, for orchestrating a staged kidnapping incident. Among the arrested individuals are two adults identified as Isaac Kissi Adjel, also known as Kofi Black, and Courage Teiko, alias Timmy.
According to preliminary investigations, one of the juvenile suspects devised a plan to extort money from his parents to fund a trip abroad. Collaborating with the others, they concocted a kidnapping scenario and demanded a ransom of Three Hundred and Forty Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHC 340,000.00) from the purported victim’s parents.
Further inquiry revealed that the group successfully obtained Twenty Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH¢20,000.00) as part of the ransom amount before their arrest.
In adherence to standard procedure, the identities of the juvenile suspects have been withheld, and their parents and guardians have been duly notified. The police continue their investigations into the matter to uncover all pertinent details surrounding the staged kidnapping incident.
