Let’s all wait for the communication that will come from the team – Baba Sadiq responds to concerns over 3 Music Awards 2023 edition delay
In response to mounting concerns about the delay in hosting the 2023 edition of the 3Music Awards, the founder and past C.E.O of the prestigious event, Baba Sadiq Abdulai Abu, has addressed the issue.
Speaking on JOY FM, Baba Sadiq who is currently pursuing his political ambitions assured the public that an official statement will be released by the management of 3Media Network, the organizers of the award scheme, in the coming weeks.
“There will be communication. What I can say is that obviously between now and the next few weeks, there will be a communication in that regard. I know the team has been working around the clock to ensure that it happens but let’s all wait for the communication that will come from the team,” he revealed
Traditionally, the 3Music Awards takes place in March each year, which has led to questions about the reasons behind the delay.
However, Sadiq was quick to provide some insights into the current status of the awards, stating that the newly appointed CEO, Rashidatu Abdulai, is fully in charge and overseeing the preparations.
He expressed confidence in the team and their plans, emphasizing the importance of allowing them to communicate the details officially.
“It will be unfair to preempt the answer. Our new CEO Rashidatu Abdulai is fully on top and in charge and I know a few of the things that they are planning and some of the things that they are doing. And so I really would like them to take it off from there,” he said.
He expressed confidence in the team and their plans, emphasizing the importance of allowing them to communicate the details officially.
When asked directly if the awards will take place this year, Sadiq urged the public to be patient and wait for the official announcement from the team.
Addressing rumours that financial constraints were preventing the 3Music Awards from taking place this year, Sadiq, who is also contesting for the parliamentary primaries of the National Democratic Congress, vehemently denied the claims, asserting that the event is not financially handicapped.
Since its establishment in 2018, the 3Music Awards, founded by Baba Sadiq, has gained widespread acclaim and has become a notable alternative to the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, winning the hearts of many through its innovative ideas.
The introduction of the 3Music Awards has injected a new level of competition into the music awards space in Ghana.
The 5th edition of the 3Music Awards took place on March 26, 2022, at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre, receiving critical acclaim and further solidifying its position as a prominent music awards event in the country.
