Tragedy struck Bolgatanga Soe on the evening of December 25, 2024, as the Ma Yaaba Restaurant, a well-known eatery opposite Parks and Gardens, was engulfed in flames.
The fire reportedly began around 4:50 PM, completely consuming the restaurant. It also threatened a nearby store, but thanks to the swift actions of onlookers and passersby, further damage was averted.
Unfortunately, the Bolgatanga Municipal Fire Service was unable to assist, as they were reportedly attending to another fire incident elsewhere in the municipality.
The incident has left the community in shock, with many lamenting the loss of the beloved restaurant. Investigations are expected to determine the cause of the fire.
