Charger Limited and Aqua Bolg Partner with SheRise Ghana to Empower Girls Through Sanitary Pad Donation and Mentorship at the Sirigu Integrated SHS
On November 12, 2024, the serene campus of Sirigu Integrated SHS in the Kasena Nankana West District witnessed an inspiring event as SheRise Ghana, with the generous support of Charger Limited and Aqua Bolg, distributed over 800 sanitary pads to students. The initiative, aimed at empowering young girls and promoting menstrual hygiene, was an indication of the organization’s dedication to fostering equality and access to education for girls in rural Ghana.
The event kicked off at 10:00 a.m. with a heartfelt address by the founder of SheRise Ghana, Teni Sarah Babohimah, a celebrated news anchor at Dreamz FM and a passionate advocate for girl-child education. Sharing her journey, she revealed how her mission began with a personal donation after winning the Zonal Icon for Women in Media, Northern Zone. She expressed gratitude to the sponsors, including Humu Khrusum Tahiru, CEO of Aqua Bolg, who led a mentorship session focusing on personal hygiene and self-care.
“Menstruation is not a limitation,” Teni emphasized during her speech. “Your period does not define you. You are strong, capable, and deserving of every opportunity. Education is the key to your future—never let anything hold you back.” She further urged the girls to prioritize their education, avoid distractions, and remain focused on their dreams.
During the mentorship session, Humu Khrusum Tahiru engaged the students in discussions about personal hygiene and the importance of maintaining good health. This session reinforced the message that health and education are foundational to a girl’s success.
The teacher representing the students expressed profound gratitude to SheRise Ghana, Charger Limited, and Aqua Bolg, commending their impactful gesture. “This act of kindness has not only provided much-needed resources but also inspired our students to aim higher and believe in their potential,” he stated.
