Bobrisky Sentenced to Jail for Naira Abuse

Popular Nigerian crossdresser, Bobrisky, has been sentenced to six months in prison for abusing and tampering with the Naira, according to a ruling by a Federal High Court in Lagos. The court’s decision comes as a stern warning against damaging the country’s currency in any way or form, setting a precedent to deter such actions in the future.

Born Idris Olanrewaju Okuneye, Bobrisky was convicted without the option of a fine, emphasizing the gravity of the offence. The judge, Justice Abimbola Awogboro, highlighted the importance of upholding the integrity of the Naira and ensuring compliance with the law to prevent further damage to the currency.

Bobrisky’s arrest stemmed from a video showing him spraying wads of cash at a movie premiere, leading to allegations of money laundering and tampering with the Naira. Despite pleading guilty and expressing remorse in court, Bobrisky was held accountable for his actions and sentenced accordingly.
