Black Sherif’s experience is not unique, as several Ghanaian artists have also dropped out of school due to the challenges of balancing education and their music careers. Notable examples include Mzvee, Stonebwoy, and D-Black.

This situation raises concerns about whether Ghanaian universities are adequately engaging students and equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in their chosen fields. Many artists and entertainers struggle to find relevance in their coursework, especially when their interests and passions lie outside the classroom.

Black Sherif enrolled in UPSA in 2021 after completing high school but reportedly abandoned his education in pursuit of a burgeoning music career that same year.
