The Upper West music industry is currently stagnant, with many debating the reasons why. Hip-hop artist Ashez Khoded shared his thoughts on Facebook this morning.
Ashez believes that Upper West musicians focus too much on unnecessary content instead of addressing social issues. He thinks they should use their music to raise awareness and inspire change.
According to Ashez, many musicians prioritize boasting about their supremacy and claiming to be the best, rather than creating meaningful music that resonates with the community.
He praised NorThug and Ganaani as exceptions, making conscious music that matters. Ashez urges his fellow musicians to take inspiration from them.
“We have alot of content to write on these days….alot is now going on in this world but my upper West musicians continue to write unnecessary content like I’m the king,we are bigger than them…all these lyrics what do you have being the king or being bigger than the other… let’s write reasonable content and gain the recognition you deserve eeee. Not I’m the king and we are bigger than them learn from Northug and Dagador Ganaani see what they are doing nowww”
