Upper East Tertiary Awards (UETA) Launched at Bolgatanga Technical University
Bolgatanga, August 9, 2024 – The Upper East Tertiary Awards (UETA) officially launched its maiden edition on Friday, August 9, at the Bolgatanga Technical University. Organized by HotShot Events Service, this prestigious awards scheme aims to recognize and celebrate the achievements of tertiary students in the Upper East Region who have made significant contributions to the development of their communities and Ghana as a whole.
During the launch, the founder of the foundation, AWINBILA BENEDICTA, delivered a speech outlining the vision, mission, and values of UETA. She emphasized that the awards are designed to honor students whose efforts and initiatives have positively impacted society, even while they are still pursuing their studies.
“The Upper East Tertiary Awards (UETA) is the highest level of Award Scheme granted to all Upper East region Tertiary Institutions, as a form of recognition of their works and efforts to the development of the region and Ghana,” she stated. “It is to Award students whose lives have changed their society positively, through their contribution(s) in the area of their work even though they are students.”
UETA aims to provide a platform to celebrate student achievements, foster the exchange of innovative ideas, and connect institutions and students. The awards also seek to equip students with leadership skills, inspire them to drive economic development, and bring about social change. This initiative brings together tertiary institutions, students, government officials, non-governmental organizations, businesses, public figures, and the general public, making it the biggest students’ festival in the region.

Mission: “To build a transformative and innovative community for youth and social-cultural development. To empower and enhance the health and well-being of the people.”
Values: “We are awarding deserving students whose initiatives impact our society and country positively. They are inspired and empowered to be entrepreneurs, raising their income levels and driving economic development and social change.”
Nominations for the 2024 edition of UETA will be opened soon, marking the beginning of a new chapter in celebrating the accomplishments of the region’s future leaders.
