Liverpool Football Club has reportedly joined the pursuit of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, adding to the competition from Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain. The 24-year-old Nigerian international has garnered significant interest after an impressive season, scoring 31 goals in 39 games and helping Napoli secure the Serie A title. However, Napoli’s chairman, Aurelio De Laurentiis, values Osimhen at more than £150 million, a substantial sum that could deter potential suitors.
Manager Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool are said to be attracted to Osimhen’s technical prowess, aerial strength, and compatibility with the team’s high-pressing and direct style of play. The Reds’ interest in Osimhen arises from the disappointment of their pursuits of Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo, whose performances fell short of expectations.
