BULLETIN MESSAGE FROM FATHER DOMINIC YAMOAH: PERSONAL ROSARY TESTIMONY

The rosary prayer has received a lot of attention in the Catholic Church’s myriads of prayer formulas and many people wonder why. In this write up, Fr. Dominic Yamoah gives a little personal testimony in support of why the praying of the Rosary is important in our spiritual lives as Catholics and people outside the church who love Mary and her Rosary.  A quotation from a Marian apparition in 1970:

“Realize the power in your hand with the Rosary, for in your hands you hold the power of God. If you do not recognize the Rosary, can you expect to be recognized by My Son? How much can you expect? Why do you hide My Rosary? It was with a Mother’s loving heart that I chose to give you these pearls of Heaven that you reject.” – Our Lady, October 6, 1970

Fr. Dominic Yamoah grew up in a family that prayed the rosary every day of together. His father always used the recitation of the rosary to keep the family together. He would always divide the family into two groups to pray the different mysteries of the rosary especially when the family had novenas. Then in the evening, the whole gather to pray the last mystery. According to his Father, when rosary is prayed in groups on behalf of the family, it was like the whole family getting together to pray all those mysteries. Therefore, the blessings of praying all the mysteries comes to all members of the family equally.

There is a testimony that Fr. Dominic Yamoah had with the rosary and Our Lady that he gifted us. At his last Parish, Father had a young boy who was an altar server. The boy would sometimes narrate the dreams he had about the church and sometimes about father’s own life and ministry to father. Well, just before Fr. Dominic Yamoah’s bishop gave him the opportunity to come the United States, He felt he needed a fresh start in His life. Here this boy comes to narrate a dream he had about him. In the dream, he saw that Father wanted to go to a different place from where He was standing. However, between where He was standing and where He wanted to go, there was a big and long trench. According to him, a man informed him to tell Fr. Dominic that if He needed to go to the other side, the normal procedure will be to descend into the trench and climb up on the other side, but he added, that way would take a long time. Therefore, he asked him to tell Father to ask the woman who was on the other side of the trench and she could help him to get to that side faster and better. Father Dominic therefore appealed to the woman and she pulled out a long rosary fashioned in the shape of a stairs and asked him to walk on top of the trench to the other side. He did and got safely to that side.

Fr. Dominic’s immediate understanding of that dream was to pray the rosary ever more seriously to obtain the needed changes that he wanted in his life. It was actually not long before hisbishop asked him to accept the appointment to come to theUnited States to work in these parishes and get the chance to study. It was not surprising according to Father that immigration processes and everything about the trip went so smoothly.

Dear friends, the rosary that we have in our hands is a special prayer. It is a weapon to gain for us everything that we need and probably at the shortest possible time. The church believes that because Jesus did not refuse her mother’s request at the wedding of Cana, he continues to listen to her intercessions for us. Take a leap of faith and make the rosary in your hands come alive and see what God will do in your life. I wish you God’s manifold blessing.
