Recalling the circumstances, Kweku Flick explained, “I think it was 2019, I didn’t have anything on me so I just called Appiah, S/o to the producer who produced Awake, I called him and he said I should come to the studio. And I didn’t have any money for transportation, so I just placed the bet and I won 300 Ghana Cedis for the first one.”
Buoyed by this initial success, the aspiring artist decided to take another chance and placed another bet, winning an additional 300 Cedis, totaling 600 Cedis. With this newfound financial boost, Kweku Flick was able to release two songs, with “Awake” becoming the breakout hit that propelled him into the limelight.
“I didn’t have any management then, so I just released it,” Kweku Flick shared. While he acknowledges that he doesn’t possess a fortune today, the rapper’s journey serves as a testament to his resilience and ability to make the most of the resources at hand.
