In a bid to nurture young leaders and foster personal growth, the Sir Charles Kids Discovery Channel successfully hosted the Basic School Student Leaders Summit 24 in Wa, Upper West Region of Ghana. The event, which took place on the 22nd July 2024 thus yesterday at the Wa Emmanuel Regular Baptist School, brought together over 100 pupils from various schools in the region, providing a platform for them to learn from renowned speakers and develop essential leadership skills.
Mr. Songsore Mulumba representing the Necessary Aid Alliance, delivered a thought-provoking speech on fostering collaboration and effective leadership. He emphasized the importance of teamwork, encouraging the students to work together, share ideas, and support one another to achieve common goals. Mr. Mulumba’s words of wisdom resonated with the students, who eagerly absorbed his insights.

Mr. Clovis Cajetan De Reformer a seasoned educator and executive director of Plan B Solutions, spoke extensively on conflict resolution in schools. He provided valuable insights on how to manage disagreements, resolve disputes, and maintain positive relationships with peers and teachers. His expertise and practical examples helped the students understand the importance of effective conflict resolution.

Miss Kumbiri Pearl the SRC Vice President of Simon Diedong Dombo University of Business and Integrated Studies, shared her experiences on effective leadership. She encouraged the students to take initiative, set goals, and work towards achieving them. Her inspiring story and leadership journey motivated the students to strive for excellence.

Mr. Richmond , an English tutor, spoke at length on effective communication and public speaking skills. He provided tips on how to articulate thoughts, express opinions, and engage in meaningful conversations. His engaging delivery and interactive exercises helped the students overcome their fears and develop confidence in public speaking.
The students expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the organizers and speakers, acknowledging the valuable lessons learned. They shared their takeaways from the summit, highlighting the importance of teamwork, effective communication, conflict resolution, goal-setting, and leadership.
Mr. Charles Banungwiiri, Bra Charles Executive Director of Kids Discovery Channel, emphasized the need for such initiatives to nurture young leaders. He appealed for sponsorships and support to organize more events like these, reaching a wider audience and empowering more young minds. His passion and dedication to youth development were evident throughout the summit.
