Zebila Peace Ride Organized By James Kumbeni In Collaboration With African Event Consult Was A Success
The Zebilla Peace Ride, held on August 10, 2024, was a powerful demonstration of the community’s commitment to peace and unity. Organized by James Kumbeni’s Keekee Cycling Konnect in collaboration with African Event Consult, the event attracted a diverse group of participants, including the District Chief Executive (DCE) of Zebilla, Daniel Atampuba.
Spanning 23 kilometers, the ride featured stops along the route where participants engaged with local residents, stressing the significance of peace in every facet of life. Upon returning to the starting point, James Kumbeni delivered a speech underlining the critical role that peace plays in community activities. DCE Daniel Atampuba echoed this sentiment, urging citizens to maintain peace before, during, and after elections, and to refrain from using insults during campaigns. Winpang Joshiah, CEO of Winpang Youth Initiative, also addressed the crowd, advising the youth to avoid violence and highlighting their often central role in conflicts.
The event extended its message of peace beyond words. After the ride, participants visited the Zebilla District Hospital, where they covered the medical bills of five patients and made partial payments for two others. This act of compassion emphasized the community’s dedication to helping those in need.
James Kumbeni’s cycling efforts have been steadily gaining momentum. His first major ride from Bolgatanga to Accra aimed to raise awareness about clean air and promote cycling as a carbon-free mode of transportation. He advocated for better cycling infrastructure to enhance safety and encourage more people to take up cycling. Kumbeni also supported Joel Atinga’s Khebabathon world record attempt shortly after.
Following the Accra ride, he organized another event from Bolgatanga to Sumbrungu, a town in the Bolgatanga area, once again promoting clean air awareness.
The Zebilla Peace Ride is the latest in this series of impactful events, continuing Kumbeni’s mission to unite communities and promote a healthier, more peaceful society.
