The music industry in Ghana is ‘scary’ – Buddy Roro

Award-winning music producer and sound engineer Roland Ackah, popularly known as Buddy Roro, has warned upcoming sound engineers, musicians as well as producers to be very vigilant and shield themselves with the amour of God because the Ghanaian music industry, he is convinced, is a scary arena to operate.

Buddy Roro, who has always been passionate about music, in an interview on Connect FM, stated it takes a lot for one to become a great sound engineer on the grounds that it involves a lot of time, talent, hard work and constant learning.

He further reiterated that the music industry needs investors and strong connections that will push Ghanaian arts to the international front and also advised to put a stop to trolls, the ‘pull him down’ schemes and exclusions where arts are being abandoned because they do not belong to specific associations.

The Madanfopa B3k) hit producer mentioned that although solid productions are being made for music, the final output is always a problem.

He, therefore, advised musicians to look out for an expert to work with and encouraged producers to also keep themselves abreast with trends.

Buddy Roro revealed he is a Christian and is very selective about his secular recordings based on lyrics.

He disclosed that he does not produce songs that promote promiscuity and violence.

The renowed producer, who has worked with the likes of Daddy Lumba, Konti Hene, Tic, Kojo Antwi, Kokoveli, among others, also announced he has works with Great Ampong, Erico, Grace Ashy, and Nicholas Omane Acheampong coming out in some few weeks.

On a lighter note, he mentioned his recent song titled Osisifuo is a gospel song that touches on greed and also creates awareness for fitness and not a diss song as most people think.
