King Promise Reacts to Stonebwoy Ignoring TGMA Congratulatory Message
Ghanaian afrobeats musician, King Promise, has addressed the situation regarding Stonebwoy’s lack of response to his congratulatory message following Stonebwoy’s win as Artiste of the Year at the TGMAs.
In a recent interview with Kwadwo Sheldon, King Promise, who won the Most Popular Song of the Year award, expressed confusion over Stonebwoy’s silence. He emphasized that there is no animosity between them, noting that they have collaborated on multiple occasions.
“It’s really up to him. I don’t know why he did that because I’m not a stranger to him…when someone wins, it doesn’t mean the world has come to an end. We’ve had conversations, we have had music together. I have done a song for his album, he’s done a song for my album, and he’s known me even before I blew up crazy. If he felt a certain way, I don’t think I did anything wrong by congratulating him, did I?” King Promise remarked.
The incident traces back to a tweet by King Promise congratulating Stonebwoy after the award announcement, which went unacknowledged.
In response, Stonebwoy clarified in another interview that his non-response was not intentional. He explained, “There are so many people who I’ve not responded to their congratulatory messages, so I think it’s in that basket. Believe me, there is nothing attached to it at all. It’s nice to congratulate people and I am not that petty.”
Despite the silence, King Promise reiterated that he holds no grudges and maintains a positive relationship with Stonebwoy.
