Ghanaian songstress Gyakie has achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first female artist from Ghana to join Boomplay’s prestigious Golden Club. The acclaimed music streaming platform awarded Gyakie a golden plaque in recognition of her remarkable accomplishment of surpassing 100 million streams.
Gyakie’s stellar accomplishment places her alongside renowned African superstars like Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, Tiwa Savage, Diamond Platnumz, Rayvanny, and Simi. This accolade is a testament to her musical prowess and widespread appeal. Notably, Gyakie achieved this feat without the release of a full album, making her success even more remarkable.
The Ghanaian songbird expressed her gratitude upon receiving the golden plaque, acknowledging the pivotal role played by her fans. She teased her upcoming album, emphasizing the anticipation for more music while encouraging fans to continue supporting her journey.
Born Jackline Acheampong, Gyakie made her entrance into the music scene in 2019 with “Love is Pretty” and gained momentum with subsequent hits like “Never Like This.” However, it was her 2020 single “Forever” that propelled her to continental acclaim. Signed to Flip The Music and Sony Music, Gyakie has released two EPs, “SEED EP” and “MY DIARY,” featuring chart-topping tracks like “Something,” “Need Me,” “Scar,” and “Rent Free.”
As a versatile artist exploring multiple genres, including Afrobeats, Afro-fusion, R&B, Dancehall, and more, Gyakie is poised to make waves with her debut album slated for release in 2024, marking the next chapter in her remarkable musical journey.
