Recruitment into the Ghana Police Service - 2024: Opportunities and Requirements
The Ghana Police Service has announced a new recruitment drive starting today, Wednesday, August 7, 2024. This initiative aims to offer employment opportunities to interested and qualified Ghanaians who applied in the 2021 recruitment exercise. The available positions include General Duty Recruits and Graduate General Duties.

Applicants from the 2021 exercise who are still interested and qualified must submit the following details via email to [email protected]:

The deadline for submissions is Tuesday, August 13, 2024. Ensure that all information provided is accurate and certifications are valid. Physical submission of application forms will not be accepted.
General Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a Ghanaian by birth
- Be of good character
- Have no criminal record
- Not have been dismissed from any public service or employment
- Be between 18 and 28 years old
- Be at least 5 feet 8 inches (173 cm) tall for males and 5 feet 4 inches (163 cm) for females
- Be physically and medically fit according to Ghana Police Service standards
- Have a minimum of five passes in SSCE/WASSCE, including Mathematics and English, as of December 1, 2021
- Be ready to undergo basic police training and other forms of training
Additional Requirements for Graduates
Degree Holders:
- Must not be more than 35 years old
- Must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree (at least Second-Class Lower Division) from a recognized university as of December 1, 2021
HND Holders:
- Must not be more than 35 years old
- Must have an HND in any field of study from a recognized Polytechnic or Tertiary Institution accredited by the Ghana Accreditation Board as of December 1, 2021
Diploma Holders:
- Must not be more than 35 years old
- Must have a Diploma in any field of study from a recognized Polytechnic or Tertiary Institution accredited by the Ghana Accreditation Board as of December 1, 2021

Recruitment Process
- Successful applicants will be contacted for the next phase of the exercise, which includes body selection and document inspection.
- Medical examinations and thorough background checks will be conducted.
- Successful applicants with no undesirable background or criminal records will be invited to commence training.
- Applicants are responsible for their own transportation, feeding, and accommodation throughout the recruitment process.
- Applicants will bear the costs associated with vetting and medical examinations.
