Aburinya Rebecca Awenpami, known by her stage name as Apagmi, has emerged triumphant as the winner of Happy Man Bitters – Miss Upper East Ghana 2023. The dazzling grand finale in Bolgatanga highlighted the rich cultural tapestry of the region, with Apagmi, representing the Builsa District, claiming the prestigious crown.
Apagmi captivated both judges and audience with her grace, beauty, and eloquence, securing not only the coveted title but also earning the accolade of Miss Culture. The competition showcased fierce talent, with notable performances from the first runner-up, Atipogbila (Bolgatanga Municipal), and the second runner-up, Awinpangbe (Bawku West District).
Established in 2018, Miss Upper East Ghana serves as a platform to celebrate and promote the cultural values and heritage of the region, empowering young women with essential life skills.
Apagmi’s victory came with an additional triumph as she drove home a brand new car, the official prize for the winner. The night also featured category awards, with Awinpangbe earning the title of Miss Eloquent, and Apagmi receiving Miss Culture, Best Project Task Two, and Miss Photogenic.
