Upper west hype, west hype for short is a modelling agency that emerges from Wa in the Upper West Region of Ghana. It was created by Mr. Joel Yeng in 2019. It was established and registered as a legal youth agency under The National Youth Authority to nurture young talents within Wa municipal and beyond in art which will go a long way to bridge the gap between southern and northern Ghana in the face of art.
West hype currently has 4 male models and 8 female models making up a total of 12 models. They currently operate in Wa, Tamale and Takoradi. They undertake all tasks including (but not limited to) brand influencing, video/filming, photography, runway/fashion modelling as well as ushering at events. Some of the current projects West Hype held and or took part in include the Upper West Students Awards, Photoshoot at Nuoyong Empire Hotel, Brand Advertising at Pelican Hotel and Reign Art Exhibition all in 2019. They also recently did a photoshoot depicting rural settlement and local culture.
With massive competition from rival agencies, West Hype stands tall because of their professionalism, branding and legally recognized operations. Speaking in an interview with Isaac Kanyiri at GBC-RUW on the usual Saturday Entertainment Arena, Mr. El, the CEO of west hype disclosed that amidst their successes chocked in all their operations, they still face a number of challenges. He said “we have a couple of problems that affect the smooth running of our work, these include our financial situation, finding suitable locations for our photoshoot as well as the perception of the general public on our activities”
West hype stands out as the best modelling agency with serious models and a good management in the history of Upper West. They are still growing in all media platforms notably Facebook, Instagram and Twitter where most of their promotions are based.
Sunnabuo B Magnus who happens to be the PRO of West Hype in an interview with OneMuzikGh disclosed that the current Covid19 has affected many of their projects. “We still have some projects which include Street Fashion Festival, A Photoshoot Tour to Mole National Park and Other Tourist Sites and Shooting of Short Movies. All these are expected to commence as soon as issues of covid19 are over “he recounted.
He ended the interview by alerting the general public that west hype needs their support on all media platforms and therefore urged everyone to like their pages especially on Instagram.
